·         Received Bachelor’s degree in Early childhood Education from MTSU in 1986

·         Received Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in ESL from MTSU in 2005

·         Has a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Justin Boyd, living in Murfreesboro, TN

·         Has two dogs: a Border Collie named Sarah and a Bassett Hound named Sally

·         Has taught at West Elementary since 1987
